This morning, 25 October, the Holy Father Leo XIV received in audience His Excellency Mr. Nawaf Salam, Prime Minister of the Republic of Lebanon, together with His Excellency Mr. Tarek Mitri, Deputy Prime Minister, who subsesquently met with His Eminence Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State, accompanied by His Excellency Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, Secretary for Relations with States and International Organizations.

During the cordial talks held at the Secretariat of State, the good bilateral relations were noted with satisfaction, and the common expectation for the Apostolic Journey of the Holy Father Leo XIV to Lebanon, from 30 November to 2 December 2025, was expressed.

The hopes placed by the Lebanese people in the process of reform and stabilization of the country and broadened to the regional context were then affirmed, with the shared hope that full pacification of the entire Levant will soon be achieved.
