Food is slowly returning to shelves in Gaza, but shortages remain severe after two years of war between Hamas and Israel.

The World Food Programme said relief access is still sharply limited for hundreds of thousands who returned to northern Gaza in October.

In late October, WFP distributed about 1 million food parcels across Gaza.

Supplies remain tight, and families are receiving reduced rations meant to last 10 days.

Separately, the first phase of a children’s vaccination campaign has wrapped up.

Two years of conflict deprived tens of thousands of children of basic healthcare, but in recent weeks, they have received catch-up vaccines for preventable diseases.

The campaign, led by UNICEF, the World Health Organization and UNRWA, also included nutrition checks.

The goal is to reach 44,000 at-risk children, many of whom missed routine immunizations during the war. Officials warn that the gap has raised the risk of deadly outbreaks as winter approaches.

The first round ran Nov. 9–18 at 149 health centers, with mobile teams seeking out the most vulnerable.

The UN said it has pre-positioned vaccines, syringes, cooling equipment and nutrition aid, and trained more than 450 specialists for the effort.
